Here's a quick blast about an opportunity that you won't want to miss out on!--
Last Friday, we had the opportunity to attend the launch event of the Experiment Fund, Harvard University's first-ever VC for student entrepreneurs. The Experiment Fund, or X-Fund, (see above for their cleverly designed logo) was co-founded by one of the Scientista Foundation's amazing advisors, Hugo Van Vuuren, who is all about empowering women in STEM.
Straight from their website, "The Experiment Fund — an agile seed investor — is a bridge between America's oldest universities and storied venture capital firms. Whether through the scientific method, artistic discovery, or lean optimization, we help tomorrow's technology leaders build and realize their visions today. We support these founders with seed capital, consistent guidance, and unparalleled access to experts." The X-Fund is unique in that it makes *seed investments* in student ideas! And pretty large investments at that. Sources say that the X-Fund will invest up to $250,000 per venture.
So who are they looking to invest in? "Bold engineers, entrepreneurs and designers"... In short, YOU! Though based in Cambridge, anyone is welcome to apply, regardless of university, age, or experience. Particularly if you have a focus on Information, Healthcare, and Energy Technologies.
We know that our Scientistas are some of the best innovators out there, and we want you to get a piece of this pie! Have a brilliant idea but don't have teammates? We started a special discussion board to connect you with other scientistas right on our website: WISE Ideas forum. So get your thinking caps on and start innovating!
