Iodine Lutetium Vanadium Uranium, too! We love these element nails, designed by cutesville. Of course, no scientista post would be complete without the science behind it! Here's a bit more about the elements depicted: I: Iodine is a bluish-black, lustrous solid. It is an important part of the human diet, as it is needed for the thyroid to produce thyroid hormone. A lack of iodine leads to a disease called goiter. Lu: Lutetium is silvery white, rare earth metal. It is perhaps the most expensive of all rare elements because it is found in small amounts and is very difficult to separate. V: Vanadium is a greyish silvery metal, and is soft and ductile. It is produced industrially as an additive to improve steels. U: Uranium is best known for it's role in nuclear power and nuclear weapons. Contamination of Uranium in the environment is a problem.
