Meet Ruzena Bajcsy, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of California at Berkeley

Bajcsy was influential in creating robots that could sense and respond to their environment. Currently, she leads an institute that creates smart low-power sensors, which she belives will be "the next revolution in technology." The sensors can have many applications such as monitoring energy consumption in buildings, watching for forest fires, or even calling 911 if a person is in trouble. Bajcsy has been named by the IEEE Board of Directors the recipient of the 2013 IEEE Robotics and Automation Award for her contributions in the field of robotics and automation.
