Our medical school visit had to be postponed due to scheduling conflicts with faculty at the med school. Hopefully that will happen early next semester! We will be holding elections for branch publisher and treasurer before the beginning of fall semester, so stay tuned for that. If you have suggestions for activities for next year, let us know! Have safe and happy summers! --Ashley 3/28/2013 0 Comments Scientista Advising PanelHello Scientistas! We have another event coming up that we hope you are just as excited about as we are!
On Monday, April 1, we will be holding a panel for underclassmen to hear from various math and science majors at Tufts about their experiences and to ask them about their studies. We are planning to have representatives from biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, math, environmental studies, geology, and computer science present. Biomedical engineering professor Sujata Bhatia, our faculty advisor, will also give a brief talk on “Life as a Bioengineer in Industry and Academia,” which will be beneficial to all students. This is an awesome opportunity to ask upperclassmen questions about their studies, their research, and being a math/science major at Tufts! The event will take place at 9:00 pm on Monday, April 1, in the Laminan Lounge of Olin Center. Join our Facebook event (https://www.facebook.com/events/374386886009938/), and invite your friends! 2/24/2013 0 Comments Math Success!Rachel, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Alexandra were hard at work during our math study session today! Good luck on your differential equations and linear algebra exams, ladies!
2/20/2013 0 Comments Math Study GroupWith the large number of math exams coming up next week, the Tufts Scientista Chapter will be holding a math study group on Saturday at 3:00 pm! This will not be a formal review session. It will be a place for math students to come together to work out problems as a group. We'll all learn from each other! Meet us in Eaton Hall!
1/31/2013 0 Comments GIM Photos and NSAWS Conference!Hey everybody! Thank you to those who came to the general interest meeting tonight - it was a huge success! We had an awesome turnout and made some fantastic crayon art. Did you know that different color crayons take different amounts of time to melt? It's due to the different chemical makeups of the dyes--who knew?
