Good Decision-Making Groups Need More Women, Not Geniuses

A study published in Science revealed that decision-making groups perform better when they include women.  Anita Woolley and colleagues theorize that the better performance rates may be due to the fact that women tend to exhibit greater social sensitivity.

Hip Size Correlated to Memory Loss in Women, according to Diana R. Kerwin, MD

According to a study by Diana R. Kerwin, MD, assistant professor of medicine and a physician at Northwestern Medicine at Northwestern University, obese older women experience more memory loss if their weight is distributed around their hips.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, at SEAS and HMS, Miriah Meyer, featured in Gazette


Dr. Miriah Meyer, Harvard Postdoc, discusses the joys of being a computer scientist specializing in the field of visualization. Her current research combines computer science and biology, focusing on gene expression. Dr. Reisa Sperling creates new online service to improve Alzheimers Research


Dr. Sperling, of Brigham and Womens, created an online matching service, called TrialMatch, that will help enroll Alzheimers patients into clinicial trials. Right now, though there are may drugs being created that can potentially treat this disease, it would take years to get enough people enrolled to even test them.
